Deja Vu

I wrote a blog on the 22nd May, 2012 (gosh can’t even remember it as it seems so long ago). Anyway here it is again…

A Discovery of Self, Soul and Inner Wisdom

As my revamped website is now up and running (just a few remaining tweaks to do here and there), I’ve been reflecting on what I’d put on as the first blog post for my new website.

I was thinking about all the courses and workshops I’ve facilitated over these many years in the psychological field and I began to think randomly of some of the titles –

“Taking Stock;   So you think you’re successful, so what?;   Celebration of Life;   Psychology of Success;   The Game of Life;   Making Changes;   The Smile Within;   Making Choices;   Get on with your life;   The Sacred in the Self;   The Visible Woman”

It was interesting for me to reflect to see what the underlying thread was in the ones I could recall.

I found that they were all about self-discovery, self-awareness, reconnecting with oneself, celebrating oneself …………….

The thread was the connection or re-connection to Self, to Soul, to Inner Wisdom, to Inner Knowing.   It was about breathing into this place as we engage with life.

I had dressed them up in all these inviting words to bring the participants in, because it can be much too scary to put the underlying reason out there and I’m talking about the area we don’t like to talk about in our life – that inner stillness, the Soul, the Self.

I always start any of my work by taking time to breathe into that place.  Simply see it as 3 deep breaths in and out!

My workshops delve further in the premise of self-discovery.  So come along to one and see how this simple start will help you on your own personal voyage.

Guess What?

And here it is the 22nd May, 2016, and I’d decided that my blog was to be on where and what my work is about.   Guess What?   My website is also being updated right now and I am still going on about Self, Soul and Inner Wisdom!!

Many years ago, I wanted to do my first degree on ‘Loss of Self’ so even then I was going on about it (it didn’t get accepted by the way – even though I saw it as a factor in having Depression) and so here I am again still talking about it.

I am saying here that me and my life are more comfortable with talking about Self, Soul and Inner Wisdom. I am fine with the fact that as I have become more and more comfortable with myself, I have become more and more comfortable with mySelf. I see my personality as being a spark of the Transpersonal Self (or the Divine or God or Higher Power or Spirit or simply Something that is More Than me).

Comfortability

That’s why I also go on about ‘BOTH-AND’ as I can be frightened, petty and irritable and also be warm, generous and loving with an inner smile of contentment or ‘comfortability’  (Jenny Kovacs said I ought to patent that last word!!).

Inspired

Oh, let me go back as I’ve spoken also about this – did you know that the meaning of the word ‘INSPIRED’ is, ‘one is in spirit’.    I find that quite fascinating and inspiring in itself. It also enables me to see that I don’t need to be motivated from the outside. You may not agree and, in my opinion, this is greater than when it is talked about being passionate about something or other.

Finally, I’ll leave you with the question – Are you going to listen to your Inner Voice, be Inspired and take Action or carry on as usual? Your greatness is your Divinity. Over to You, it’s your Call.  Let me know.

I was also lucky enough to do Sarah and Kevin Arrow’s 30 Day Blogging Challenge twice so my blogs have updated a bit.
