listIt’s up to you how you use your time.  You can use it wisely, fritter it away, or feel the fun of doing something that could be seen as a waste of time by others.

What made me suddenly think of time is that I have become aware of how much I can get things done when I’m busy.  I guess it’s the old one of “the more you do, the more you get done” or “always ask a busy person and they’ll be able to do it for you”.

It’s not that I’m advocating always being busy.  You, as a mature woman, may have had a lifetime of just that!  No, it’s more about having a purpose (small or large) and going for it. You can then really enjoy those days when you can take it easy, relax and just be.  Those lovely peaceful times.

It’s always the grey area in between which causes the problems.  You can become stressed or even ill when you’re over-stretched, or bored and depressed when you do too little.  It’s having the balance between the two and, for some (including me), this can take a long time to learn.

I’d like to ask you “What is your Purpose when you get up in the morning?”  It’s always good to get clear on how you will spend your day.  When you do this (I usually write it down in some form or another), you can draw on it at any time.  It can reinforce you when you’re on track or when you’re lost.  It can keep you focused on what’s most important.

In this bleak January, remember to smile or even laugh out loud (as it’s so true that laughter is food for the Soul), move your body when hearing a great tune on the radio and get fresh air.  You can then have the energy to begin to tick off anything on your list.
