Do any of you know that wonderful, wonderful feeling of getting indoors, into your comfort clothes or maybe not even that, and taking your bra off???

I so do and I love the freedom of not feeling that I am somehow in a straitjacket.   Of course, it is not all the time I feel like that as I feel totally fine that my bra is doing its proper duty of keeping my breasts from hanging down near to my waist normally.    It is when it comes to the evening somehow that it is such a relief to get it off.

So that is my lead-in to my blog about being –

comfortable outside and within

I did a blog quite recently entitled “Success is being comfortable with yourself regardless of what’s going on around you”   and  that is still my opinion.

You see for me being comfortable is about being able to love yourself with all your imperfections (bra on or bra off or anything in between) as well as all that is simply great about you.   It is about being able to say to the world –

I am just fine with being me

However much anyone tells us that we are fine just as we are, we won’t believe it until we know it ourselves.   We have to be comfortable with ourselves – our imperfections, our way of being, our striving, our desires and all that is generous, open, joyous, kind and beautiful within us, and then we will know ourselves and so believe it.

Truth

Even although the world only pays lip service, and doesn’t tell us the truth that it is fine not to be perfect and not to have to hide ourselves behind the various masks we show the world, this is a truth for me.   It is such a weight lifted from your shoulders when you are able to say – I love this woman, this me, however much she can drive me up the wall at times!!

I am not saying that it is easy as there is so much judgement in the world – the good, the bad and the ugly – and even from ourselves.  Not everyone will look kindly and come from a place of non-judgement and see us through those eyes as they have probably already made their minds up about us – through what they’ve heard, or imagined or their expectations.    All each of us can do is to acknowledge that it would have been good if they could truly see us, let go of our need to be liked and move on.

So from a woman who has taken off her bra and is in her pyjamas and dressing gown

Be Comfortable with Yourself

in your full regalia too – inside and outside.

I sit alongside Women, as a Mentor and Guide, while they let go of their masks in order to be comfortable with themselves.
